Are you ready for some Football?!?!

Here's my little guy, Hudson, who LOVES football. While we are totally bummed that our Chargers, once again, will not be playing in the Super Bowl, the Berni Family will still be a part of the millions of fans watching the game, eating the food, and drinking the drink.

Are you a bit skeptical about the craziness that surrounds the Super Bowl? Do you wonder what all the fuss is about? Yeah, makes sense. Here are a few random facts about tomorrow's Big Game Day. They're pretty funny....

HOW MUCH FOOD WILL BE CONSUMED?
8 million: Total pounds of popcorn consumed on Super Bowl Sunday.
28 million: Pounds of potato chips consumed.
53.5 million: Pounds of avocados consumed.
222,792: Number of football fields worth of farmland to grow all that
corn, potatoes, and avocados.
11.8: Depth, in feet, of guacamole consumed if it were spread across the football field.
293,000: Number of miles of potato chips, laid end to end, consumed during the game.
1 billion: Number of chicken wings consumed on Super Bowl Sunday.
325.5 million: Gallons of beer drank by Americans that day.
493: Number of Olympic-sized swimming pools that could be filled with all that beer.
20%: Increase in ant-acid sales the Monday after the game.
7 million: Number of employees who will not show up to work Monday.

So, what will you be doing tomorrow? How will you contribute to the above facts?? I, for one, will happily volunteer to several of the above.

Ok, back to the blog. Sorry, I've been known to ramble at times. Can't decide what to make tomorrow? Need a last minute recipe with few ingredients and is simple to make? I have the perfect idea for you: SALSA. Salsa reminds me of warm, sunny, summer days with my family and friends. Perfect for game day. Tomorrow I will be making my friend, Victoria's salsa recipe. It is one of our favorites so I want to share it with you. Have fun tomorrow and GO SAINTS!!!

Victoria's Salsa

1 28 ounce can of whole stewed tomatoes
1 medium onion, chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, chopped
2 medium jalapenos, chopped
1 bunch of cilantro, chopped
2-3 limes
Salt

Place tomatoes in blender. Add onion, garlic cloves, and jalapenos. Add salt to taste. Cut up cilantro and add to blender. Use the chop setting for about 10 seconds or less. Pour in bowl and squeeze in the lime juice. Stir and eat with chips!  YUMMY!!!
